Linna Li was a Ph.D. student in the Department of Geography at UCSB and then a Post-Doctoral researcher at the Center for Spatial Studies, interested in GIScience theories and applications. Li has a B.S. in Earth and Space Sciences from Peking University in China, an M.S. in Geography from the University of South Carolina, and a Ph.D. in Geography from UCSB. She has a wide range of research interests, from geographical knowledge representation and communication to geovisualization and spatial cognition, including spatial data analysis and modeling. After working on two projects as a post-doc—conflation of heterogeneous geospatial data and volunteered geographic information (VGI)—Li accepted a tenure-track position at Cal State University, Long Beach.
