Before you know it, the end of the year will arrive, bringing with it one of the Spatial Center’s biggest and best events: spatial@ucsb.local! With speakers and poster sessions geared to a spatial topic of interest to the county-wide community, this event is not-to-be-missed! This year’s theme is Spatial Data for Smarter Cities.

We solicit posters for this event, which will be on June 6 at the Corwin Pavilion—graduates, undergraduates, faculty, staff, and the local community are all invited to either participate or simply attend!

Although the plenary session has a theme, we will accept posters on any topic that addresses any aspect of spatial analysis. Poster submitters will be expected to hang their work early in the day and then return during the poster session to eat lunch and explain/discuss their work to the viewers who come from on and off campus.
Our deadline for reserving space for a poster submission is May 15. To submit a poster or inquire for more information, please contact Karen Doehner at

Lunch will be provided!
