Selena-Web-Profile-14Selena Daly was a Fulbright Scholar and Post-Doctoral Researcher at the Department of French and Italian at UCSB. Her research is interdisciplinary in scope and lies at the crossroads of cultural history, art history, and Italian studies. While at UCSB, Daly worked on a research project entitled “Managing the Movement: The Group Dynamics of Italian Futurism, 1909–1944,” which used the tools of historical GIS to investigate and analyze the intra-group dynamics, diffusion, and shifting membership of the avant-garde Futurist movement throughout Italy. This research was funded by the Fulbright Commission and a major three-year award from the Irish Research Council and European Union (Marie Curie Actions). Daly’s first monograph, Italian Futurism and the First World War was published by the University of Toronto Press in 2016. She is currently researching a book on Italian emigrants during the First World War.
