As of 2019, the Center for Spatial Studies ceased to develop and maintain it’s educational initiatives.

Prior to this, the Center for Spatial Studies promoted spatial thinking at the secondary, graduate, and postgraduate levels. The very popular interdisciplinary Minor in Spatial Studies, the first of its kind worldwide, was created by the Center to offer a complementary minor to undergraduate students campus-wide. The program is now administered by the Department of Geography.

The interdisciplinary Exploration Seminar, Thinking Spatially in the Arts and Sciences, was created to offer a broad introduction to the many applications of spatial study to freshmen.
